Body building is the way of "building" the maximum capacity strength and muscle tone in the body through weightlifting and other form of exercise. Body building focuses on shaping and defining the body's musculature, or muscle system. The first known and most famous body builder was Eugen Sandow. Sandow, born in 1867 in what is now Germany and what was then Prussia, started his body building career as a sideshow Strong Man. Sandow, known as The Great Sandow, believes that a muscular body was a work of art. He is the author of the famous flexes and other posing techniques that until now it is widely use in body building competitions. Sandow is popularly known as the "Father of Body Building."

During body building competition participants that usually travel from other places bring their own foods. Body building enthusiasts are increasing rapidly due to rewarding outcome of this activity. Discipline, hard work and determination will mean success and power in body building.
